Equipment Provided by NingDu Adoptive Families: A clothes dryer and four air-conditioners were badly needed. Adoptive NingDu families raised the funds and Amity workers had them delivered. One of the donations was in honor of the birthday of a little girl adopted from NingDu. What a great way to celebrate! |

Contributions provided for Pingxiang Orphanage New Equipment and Furniture Provided: Pingxiang got a new orphanage building! This is fantastic news, but although the state supplied the building the orphanage needed some help providing equipment and furniture. Here's what your donations purchased to get the kids off to a good start in their new home. Washing machine
(US $2070) Foster Care: Ten more children can now be placed with foster care families. Four have been placed and two of these have since been adopted by American families. Now, two additional children can be placed in foster care. While visiting one of the foster families, Amity Grandma Yu saw that HLP's color is good, from getting good nutrition. She can sit and crawl by herself now. |

Medical Needs Met: HCP, an infant girl born on 12/15/03, was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. She'll soon be receiving her first surgery, to correct her cleft lip. DX (below left) received an elastic band for her leg with hemangioma. HSP, a girl born in September of 2002 (below right) needed surgery for a cleft lip. She will probably also need cleft palate surgery later. We'll keep you posted. |

Hugging Grannies: We have two Amity Hugging Grannies working in this orphanage. This orphanage uses our Grannies in especially innovative ways, including tutoring for the school children. Foster Care: Five children are being sponsored in foster care homes. |

Contributions for the Ruijin Orphanage: Hugging Grannies: We have 2 Hugging Grannies working in this orphanage. Equipment Provided: Recent donations provided two air-conditioners/heater units, an incubator for newborns and a wheelchair for a little boy in foster care. Thanks, contributors! The Ruijin orphanage was badly in need of some physical rehabilitation equipment. This orphanage also really needed an industrial strength washer and dryer to keep the kids' clothing and bedding clean and dry. We used donations from our General Relief Fund to provide this equipment for them. Foster Care: We have 20 healthy infants from the orphanage in Ruijin placed in foster care homes. We hope that the current sponsors will be able to renew for another year, during the Spring of 2004. |

Medical Needs Met: JFF, a girl born in April of 2002 (below) received surgery for cleft lip and palate, after the first surgery in December of 2002 had to be halted. This surgery was provided by Smile Train. |

Contributions Provided for the Shanggao Orphanage Rehabilitation Equipment Provided: Rehabilitation equipment for the children with special needs has been provided by ShangGao adoptive families. Thanks, families! Foster Care: We have nine children from this orphanage in foster care. Hugging Grannies: There are three Hugging Grannies working in this orphanage. |

Contributions provided for the Shangrao Orphanage Hugging Grannies: Three Hugging Grannies work at the Shangrao orphanage. We also have two nurses and one tutor there through the Hugging Granny Program. Foster Care: We have twenty-two kids from this orphanage in foster homes. Washers and Dryers Provided: The orphanage received an industrial strength dryer to keep up with the needs of all of the children. (US $2,439) The institute really needed additional clothes washers and dryers. Many of the clothes were being washed by hand (US $3886). We used donations from our General Relief Fund to provide these for them. Some of the older children's beds and blankets were too small. The orphanage has now received 20 larger beds and 20 winter blankets. |

Equipment Needs Met: A new washing machine is being provided, using donations from our General Fund. Thanks very much to those of you who have made donations for "whatever is most needed"! An incubator was received for the newborns in the orphanage. Medical Needs Met: RMM, a child in this orphanage needed a wheelchair. We were able to use money from our General Fund to pay for this. Thanks for contributing for whatever is most needed! RXX suffers from congenital heart disease and is receiving good care. Heart surgery is indicated, but the surgery will need to wait until this child is a little older. Doctors are monitoring this case and will keep us informed. It looks like we'll be able to cover this by using money from our General Fund. Thanks to those of you who have sent donations "for whatever is most needed"! Hep B examinations were provided for 10 children and their foster parents. Hep B vaccinations were provided for 7 children. Ultra-sonic echo scanning on congenital heart deformities was provided for two children. RQL, an infant girl born on 12/2/02, received orthopedic surgery to remove three extra toes and repair her feet so that she can walk. RJJ, a girl born in January of 1994 received medical treatment in hospital for chronic nephritis. RF, a girl born in February, 1992 (below left) received hearing aids for both ears. RYY, a girl born in May, 1998 (below right) received surgery on a malformed finger on her right hand. |
