| As of March 1 this year we did begin the services of two new Grannies. Instead of working at the orphanage they are working in a rehab room that has been built in an apartment complex where many of our handicapped children are (esp those with cerebral palsy). So they will work there doing rehab with these children. We also bought the rehab equipment for it in March of this year which was $1291 from donations by eQuilter.com. | ||

We've received an update report for the first
half of 2003 on our wonderful Amity Hugging Grannies.
This year we have 53 of these hard-working volunteers to find sponsorship for to cover minimal travel and food expenses. |
|
|
Annual sponsorship for each Granny is only
$544, which covers only their most basic expenses. Donations will
be gladly accepted in any amount.
These dedicated volunteers are retired teachers, doctors, nurses and caregivers. They have decided to devote their lives to the children in the orphanages - bringing love, nurturing, medical care and often badly needed supplies with them. Visit the Work with Amity Foundation section of our site to meet some of our Hugging Grannies and find out more about the contributions that they make every day. |
